Outtakes

So this idea came to me from a comment that was made on a picture I took of Levi about how he always poses so nicely for me (thanks Christine for this idea!).  I realized that I usually only post the pictures that Levi looks good in, but I have so many pictures that didn't turn out quite so perfectly.  Here's a little peak at some of our outtakes:

Ok, maybe in these last two he has a reason to be upset with me ; )

Fallen Leaf Lake

A week with no exams means a weekend full of fun (plus some studying still).  Today Levi and I went up to Tahoe to go snowshoeing on a new trail that we hadn't done before.  It was a gorgeous day, sunny and 45 degrees.  We went to Fallen Leaf Lake which was so beautiful with Mt. Tallac in the background.  It was a little bit rough going at first because there wasn't a marked trial so we were just following other peoples' paths.  A lot of them didn't really go the right direction though so we ended up just making our own trail for part of it. It was so nice to finally have snow after our semi-failed attempt at snowshoeing earlier this season.  Levi loved frolicking in the snow and he even ran down into the lake a couple times.  Can't keep that boy out of water if I tried.  It was a great day snowshoeing with my favorite doggie in my favorite place on earth!

Enjoying a good roll in the snow

Levi never smiles when I try to take pictures with him :(

Much cuter without me in the picture

Cerro Alto Hike

Two weeks ago I went home to go wedding dress shopping with my sister.  While I was home for the weekend my sister, our friend Nicole, and I went hiking at a trail near my parents' house called Cerro Alto.  My mom and I had hiked part of it this past summer but it got too hot and we had to turn back early.  This time it was nice and cool so we were able to make it all the way to the top.   It was a good hike, 5.5 miles with a 1900ft elevation gain.  Cerro Alto, at 2,600 ft  is one of the highest points in San Luis Obispo County.  The views along the way were beautiful but they were nothing compared to the views from the top.  Thankfully it wasn't foggy so we were able to see 360 degree views of the central coast including Morry Bay, Cambria, and San Luis Obispo.  At the top everyone was exhausted except Levi who was running in circles like a crazy boy.

End of Winter Break

The last weekend of winter break was a whirlwind!  I left my externship in Salinas, CA on Saturday and drove down to my parents' house to pick up Levi who they had been babysitting for me.  The next morning I packed up all of Levi's belongings and drove up Hwy 1 with my sister, her fiance, and my parents to look at wedding venues in Big Sur.  The views on the drive were incredible (as is their selected wedding site).

After lunch in Big Sur, Levi and I split off from the group and continued the drive north back to Davis.  Levi and I got to stop for a short time in Carmel on the way home though so Levi could romp on the beach.

Levi was right in the middle of fetching his toy from the waves when two scuba divers emerged from the water and startled him.  He didn't know what to think of the scary sea monsters so he barked at them to try to scare them off.  We worked a little bit trying to build his confidence around the scuba divers but I didn't think until after we had left that I should have given them a treat to give him.  Oh well, maybe I'll remember that for the next time we see scuba divers at the beach.

Overall it was a beautiful day and a great end to break.
